Parent/Family Resources

The Gifted and Talented Program provides multiple seminars and presentations for parents throughout the year. See below for parent resources, documents, and useful links.

As a parent or caregiver, you may understand that the differences your child exhibits relate to her giftedness, but your child/learner likely does not. When children notice and feel different from their peers, they seek explanations. See this resource from NAGC, Talking with your child about giftedness for some great tips and strategies.

Advocating for Your Child
Parents often wonder when and how to approach their child's teacher if their child seems unhappy or not challenged in the classroom. This NAGC TIP sheet on Classroom Advocacy offers some suggestions on starting this conversation to partner with your child’s teacher.
