  Mr. Aaron Graversen grew up in Topeka, Kansas and became interested in music at a very early age. He studied music at Kansas State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in music education with an emphasis in Jazz and Latin music. Mr. Graversen then went on to teach fifth grade through 12th grade band in Osage City, KS for five years before moving to Kansas City, where he taught fifth grade through 12th grade band for another six years. During that time, he has also been an avid performer, composer, and songwriter; performing in a variety of bands of different genres. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Leanne, his dog, Sandy, as well as his friends and family. He loves playing/writing music, playing video games, and hiking Colorado’s beautiful trails. Mr. Graversen is extremely excited to share his experiences and talents with the fifth graders of JeffCo.

August 24th/28th/30th/31st - We are working on choosing a date for our Columbine area Information/Rental Night at KCMS, 6:30-8 PM. Let us know if any of these dates do/don't work. (Families can attend either night)
November 2nd - Orchestra Informance at DRHS, 5:30-6 PM; Band Informance at DRHS, 7-7:30 PM
December 5th - Area Orchestra Concert at DRHS, 5:30-6:15 PM; Area Band Concert at DRHS, 7-7:45 PM
April 16th - Orchestra Rehearsal (students only) at DRHS, 5-6 PM; Band Rehearsal (students only) at DRHS, 6-7 PM
April 22nd - Spring Band and Orchestra Concert at DRHS, 6-6:30 PM

Mrs. Carrie Welch is excited to be teaching beginning orchestra in the Columbine and Dakota Ridge area elementary schools. This will be her eighth year of teaching instrumental music in Jeffco, the district in which she grew up. She obtained her BA in Music Education from Colorado State University and has been teaching band and orchestra of all levels for over ten years. In her free time, Mrs. Welch enjoys being outdoors, taking care of her pets, and of course, playing her instruments. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for music with her students and the community.
