English as a Second Language (ESL)

Jeffco's English as a Second Language (ESL) program develops the ability of Multi-Language Learners (MLLs) to speak, read, write and understand English for a variety of purposes. The program also provides MLLs with the support they need to access grade-level curriculum as they are learning English.

Students at Blue Heron Elementary have a background in many different languages, including: Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, Korean, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, Croatian, Romanian, Serbian, Hungarian, Hebrew, Arabic and Amharic.
